Assistant Director, IT and Data Management

Reports To: Senior Director, IT and Data Management

Location:  Cleveland, OH

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of the organization’s data management processes and systems, including but not limited to data evaluation, data imports/exports and data reporting:
  • Assist with managing data gathering efforts to support, Say Yes, school district and community reporting needs
    • Collaborate with senior data management director on data collection, data entry, and data evaluation efforts
    • Produce reports using data from Say Yes systems and other school-based data sources
    • Assist with maintaining the quality, completeness, and integrity of data
    • Identify functionality improvements; identify and troubleshoot software issues and escalate issues appropriately as needed;
  • Assist with coordinating various technology needs (computers, laptops, printers, etc.) at the chapter central office and at program activities, including but not limited to setting up and breaking down computers, printers, and other technology; servicing and troubleshooting end-user technology
    • Assist with identifying chapter technology needs and make recommendations;
  • Assist with data analytics and data evaluation responsibilities
  • Participate in Say Yes Cleveland meetings and professional development activities;
  • Assist with supporting Say Yes data system end users (i.e. training, user guide development, issue resolution and general application help);
  • Perform additional duties as needed which may require working evenings and weekend.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Proficient in Excel, Power BI, Python, Tableau
  • Experience in a nonprofit, education environment

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 2-3 years demonstrated experience with data administration, data bases, and data management
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience working in college access and college success capacity with first-generation students
  • Demonstrated experience using data to inform determination and application of student supports
  • Demonstrated experience producing reports that analyze and validate data and present the data using multiple formats
  • Excellent computer and database management skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience querying data bases and evaluating and manipulating data for reporting and analyses
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new data management and reporting technologies quickly
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative in problem solving and the ability to troubleshoot software issues. Excellent written, oral communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Team player who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to a diverse population of students and their families
  • Must embrace a positive youth development approach to working with students
  • Ability to work Saturdays and weekends

Assistant Director, Student and Family Support Services

Reports To: Director of Student and Family Support Services

Location:  Cleveland, OH

Responsibilities/Duties:

The Assistant Director for Student & Family Support Services will work in partnership with, and report to the Director for Student & Family Support Services. In doing such, the assistant director (AD) is responsible for supervision, coaching, process improvements, training, problem solving and dealing with the day-by-day challenges of the school-based Family Support Specialists (FSS).  As a member of the administrative team of Say Yes, the assistant director will directly support the work of FSS, troubleshooting issues, working directly with principals and school leadership and providing temporary local supports when required.  Overall, your role is to ensure that the FSS are supported, engaged and effective.  You will lead through supervision, coaching and managing people and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multilingual (specifically in Spanish and English)
  • A deep familiarity and feel for the City of Cleveland
  • Comfortable using technology
  • Able to start immediately

Position Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field (e.g. counseling, education, etc.);
  • Minimum of 10 years of field experience working with children and families in urban schools;
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory and managerial experience;
  • At least 5 years working in, with, or in support of traditional urban or public charter schools;
  • Experience working directly with school district/building, philanthropic and/or civic leadership;
  • Live within the greater Cleveland metropolitan area;
  • Must have car and be able to travel between Cleveland schools.
