Derrick Fulton

Executive Director

A seasoned nonprofit leader with a deep commitment to educational equity and community development, Fulton serves as Executive Director of Say Yes Cleveland. Fulton's career includes several executive leadership roles. He served as Executive Director of Facing History and Ourselves before becoming Market President and Regional Vice President at City Year, where he oversaw 10 affiliate sites across the country. His background also includes a role as Transformation Specialist at the Ohio Department of Education, where he managed a $20 million School Improvement Grant budget and coached principals to ensure 100% of his assigned schools met funding requirements for consecutive years. Fulton holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Bluffton University and a Master of Science from Franklin University. He is widely recognized for leading with integrity, authenticity, and a results-driven mindset that prioritizes student achievement above all else.
